We found no recent hands-on expert pick for this model; it's included for its Amazon best-seller standing. Expert testers preferred the Breville Grind Control. — Serious Eats, The Best Coffee Makers With Grinders (updated Aug 25, 2025)
Expert picks counts how many of the independent publications we used named the model as a recommended pick in their latest guide. It is a count, not a rating, and the publications are listed under each product. Price tier is a rough guide from maker list prices ($ under $100, $$ $100-299, $$$ $300-999, $$$$ $1,000+); we don't show live prices, so check the retailer. A "Popular pick" badge means the model was on Amazon's best-seller list but none of our expert sources picked it.
FAQ
Are grind-and-brew coffee makers worth it?
They save a step, but Serious Eats found that more automation means less control. Its testers said the Breville Grind Control was the only machine with a grinder that came close to a good cup.
Burr or blade grinder?
Burr grinders give more even grounds, which generally means better extraction. Good Housekeeping was surprised by how consistent the Black+Decker's blade grinder was for the price.
Can a grind-and-brew machine make espresso?
A drip grind-and-brew can't. For coffee and espresso from beans, Good Housekeeping recommends a fully automatic espresso machine like the De'Longhi Magnifica Start.
